Project
Happy Viking Bar

From Dark & Dull to Lively & Inviting at The Happy Viking
The Happy Viking is a beloved local bar and grill known for its casual atmosphere and hearty menu. The goal of this project was to completely revitalize the bar area, creating a space that felt warm, welcoming, and seamlessly connected to the dining room. Lauren worked closely with the owners to design an environment that encouraged guests to gather, socialize, and stay longer – ultimately enhancing both the customer experience and the establishment’s profitability.
The Challenge
The Happy Viking’s bar area felt dark and disconnected from the dining space, making it uninviting for guests looking to gather and socialize.
Lauren’s Approach
Lauren redesigned the layout to open up sightlines between the bar and dining areas. He incorporated warm wood finishes, backlit bottle displays, and hand-drawn concept sketches to guide construction.
Result
Result: Bar sales increased by 30% within two months after the remodel was completed.
